It came out on top following a study which analysed the average house price in an area and compared it to the average size of private outdoor space a property has in the area.
The study was conducted by outdoor living experts White Stores, and looked at house prices in 340 UK local authorities, alongside data from Ordnance Survey.
On average, private green space in Ceredigion spans 676.5 square metres.
With the average Ceredigion dwelling being valued at £228,854, this means an average garden will cost residents £338 per square metre.
Powys ranks as the second-least expensive locality for outdoor green space in Wales, with an average cost of £345 per square metre, average house price of £229,686, and 664.8 square metres of space.
Pembrokeshire is the third least expensive region in Wales, with outdoor space costing £372 per square metre, an average garden space of 562.7 square metres, and an average house price of £209,122.
In Carmarthenshire, the average house price is £198,688, while the average outdoor space is 504 square metres. This means the cost of a garden is £394 per square metre – the fourth lowest in Wales.
With an average house price of £201,466 and private space stretching to 478.4 square metres, Gwynedd averages £421 per square metre.
The Welsh capital Cardiff is the most expensive local authority for garden space, at £1,354 per square metre, with an average of around 198.1 square metres of private outdoor space, based on an average house price of £268,201.
This is followed by Newport, costing £956 per square metre for an average sized area.
The Vale of Glamorgan is in third on £946.
