In August, I had four crocheted plants. In September, my coworker said I should "get a pothos, but don't fuss on it!" By November, I had 10 plants to spread my fussing over, and it still wasn't enough. Repotting every year or two? Water every other week? I needed more!!

Then I stumbled onto proplifting, and it changed everything! I could scratch that new plant itch with discarded scraps. I was learning about new plants. And the fussing? Oh the fussing!! Water prop until roots, then soil prop in little pots with frequent watering for a month or two, then repot again! Daily monitoring, little labels with dates, and a cute journal to track it all. Fuss heaven 🙂

And I know not everyone names their plants and anthropomorphizes them, but my props? I know them. I saved them. I watched them go from sad trash to thriving plants. We battled through the unknown together. Like with lil' Scuba Steve. I put him in water upside down, and only realized my mistake when LEAVES poked out from the submerged end instead of roots. He is now right-side up in soil and has doubled in size. I could not be more proud. There's *Floor*ence, and Na*Trash*a, and D'Bri. Little *Free*da, cheeky *Nicked*olas, and one sad little twig I'm calling Mary (as in a Hail Mary).

I am so happy to have found a way to make this hobby work for me, and my husband is happy I've found a way to make this hobby work for our budget. I carry a cup in my purse at all times, in case an opportunity (prop-ortunity?) presents itself. I know the general time my nemesis walks around my local home depot with her broom and orange bucket, sweeping up all my hopes and dreams. (She was NOT a fan of the prop box idea) I am now *that person* who asks about the plants in the lobby.

So thank you all for the inspiration! And I wish you all the best of luck on your hunt for local *Floor*a.
