I have two begonias. They both look like this. They get sun, I water them when they dry out. What am I doing wrong? I’m so embarrassed by these plants when I have 70 other ones doing just fine
Sometimes they just don’t make it! (That’s what I tell myself) unsure if you have 70 different plants or 70 other begonias but I find my personality type does best with ferns so I just stick to mainly ferns. I cry less now. Sometimes it’s just a matter of who you get along with! I have one begonia I’ve managed to keep alive and bottom feeding helps immensely. (And in-season fertilizing often) Best of luck!

maybe too much sun and not enough water. these love humid environments.
trim away the dead, water it well and move it to slightly indirect light and you might see those rhizomes throw up new leaves

Don’t worry plant friend! You’re doing just fine!
Yes, sometimes they just don’t make it but begonias are so much more hearty than they seem!
I bet if you cut them down to the stump or just cut all the dead and wilting leaves off they will start to come back!
I only water from the the top a tiny bit each watering to help the soil from becoming hydrophobic and then I put the rest of the water in the tray that their pots are sitting in to be absorbed from the bottom.
They can sometimes get unhappy if they don’t have enough humidity so the winter months (for me) are hard on them but they make it through and flourish once I don’t have the heat on so much.
