What are these ants doing? Can I use the dead ones as compost? Will this affect my kiwi plant?

Fine to compost, but no real benefit. And they won’t hurt your plants.

It’s just a graveyard/cemetery. They put their dead far away from the colony to prevent disease. You don’t need to do anything.

Ah, an ant cemetery. No harm to your plants, just extra crunch to your soil.

Be happy that it’s outside. Once ants decided to make a cemetery out of my bathroom floor. 😭

They put their dead in dedicated spot. Usually it’s located underground or a cavity. But different species have different behaviours. The bodies add a bit of nitrogen to the soil. If you want to harvest it, go for it. Just leave some bodies undisturbed so that the scent remain.

If they are the ants I think they are they are a major problem in my garden living in my vegetable garden moving into plant pots farming plant sucking insects like aphids and passion vine hopper kill one nest then 2 more pop up stared in one spot and have almost taken over my yard they have now moved into the garage had a few in my room (managed to stop them) fighting a losing battle here

ant cemetery, they picked that spot to put their dead, if you move it they’ll find a new spot which could be anywhere.

you can remove some if you want but leave enough so they can find and keep using that spot, unless you want to gamble on where they’d move.

they don’t hurt anything and aren’t bad or good, very neutral to soil/plants, no harm done.
