RHS Garden Bridgewater in Salford is bringing Kenneth Grahame’s timeless tale, and E. H. Shepard’s much‑loved illustrations, to life in the garden this February Half Term.

From Saturday 14 to Sunday 22 February 2026, families can enjoy a delightful programme of nature‑themed activities, all included with garden admission. The events are inspired by E. H. Shepard’s iconic artwork for The Wind in the Willows, offering visitors a chance to step into the world of Mole, Ratty, Badger and friends.

At the heart of the celebrations is The Wind in the Willows: A Garden Adventure, a brand‑new interactive trail launching at Half Term and remaining in the garden throughout the year. Children and adults alike can follow the beloved characters as they explore the garden and encounter scenes from the classic story, brought to life through Shepard’s charming illustrations. Blending creativity, storytelling and outdoor discovery, the trail offers a memorable way for families to spend time together.

To complement the trail, RHS Garden Bridgewater will host a series of drop‑in creative sessions for February Half Term:
