Ideas for the emersed part of my aquariums.
Polka dot plant does well in water as well
Plain water has no nutrients. If you want your water rooted plants to be lush then you need to get fertilizer designed for growing plants hydroponically. A note about growing plants in water: Beware of mosquito larvas. I was disgusted one day to find mosquito larvas swimming in one of my propagation jars. I now do a water change every two days or so.
Why do I need an 'organic' sweet potato to grow a plant?
I have several already growing in water already, but I will purchase the ones I don't have this Spring.
Can you grow several different plants in the same large container of water?
Can you put any of these in with fish?
Someone Said Another Channel, That They Eat Coleus 's, DO NOT DO THAT!! I Googled It And They Are Not Edible!!π
Does the water changes every week have to be water that has stood 24 hours?
How does one keep the glass from 'staining' from fertilizer or hard water?
What a about lucky bambo
I use Super Thrive foliage Grow fertilizer with my hydroponically grown plants. It aids a lot.
I have an arrowhead plant that was absolutely struggling while planted in dirt. I took cuttings and put them in a jar, They are literally sitting in the same place as they were when they were in dirt , but now their thriving like mad. All I do is change the water once a week. They even put out new growth during the winter.β€
I had and have hanging pothos plants hanging now that are dying on my can I take them out of dirt and put them in water and will they grow back?
Very well done ππππβΊοΈ
I have a curly spider plant. It's awesome and it lives in a pickle jar full of water and looks great. π
I do not have a green thumb, "But" …..can someone explain how house plants can propagate in water and almost never have any issues and then the same plant can live in soil…and when they live in soil they are so finicky? If they get to much water they die in soil and if they don't get enough water in soil they die…..WHAT IS UP WITH THAT?
All that i can hold off.
I collect all sorts of really cool, looking glass bottles, and jars from thrift stores and people donate them to them me to use for my plants. It really gives my plants a unique look and beauty when I display my hydroponic plants. I have just purchased two additional floor to ceiling racks with lights on them because I have so many plants! One whole rack on each shelving unit is full of hydroponic plants grown from cuttings. I now give an assortment of plants as housewarming gifts along with instructions. The plants that remain in soil are primarily succulents or bromeliads. I have managed to keep my peace lilies alive for eight years that were gifts to me when my family passed away suddenly. Obviously, those have a lot of sentimental value. I am a retired nurse that also accumulated plants free of charge from patients who didnβt want to take them home.
