A North East garden centre is offering a new way to mark Mother’s Day.
Dobbies in Birtley has launched a planted wreath workshop, giving visitors the chance to spend ‘quality time’ together while creating a handmade living display.
The hands-on session, guided by Dobbies’ ‘Green Team,’ teaches participants how to craft a hanging metal-frame wreath filled with seasonal plants and greenery.

The finished wreath can be taken home and displayed on a door or garden wall.
Ayesha Nickson, events programme manager at Dobbies, said: “Mother’s Day is a special day for many of our customers, and we love being part of the celebration.
“Our two Mother’s Day experiences at the Birtley store are the perfect way to spend quality time together.

“The Mother’s Day Planted Wreath Workshop is a brand-new event for this year and, with the option to add on an afternoon tea, this is a great way to show the mother figure in your life just how much you care.”
The workshop runs from March 13 to 15 and costs £37.50 per person.
Guests can also book a themed afternoon tea for an additional £22.50.
The afternoon tea is also available as a standalone booking from March 13 to 16, priced from £25 per person.
It features a selection of finger sandwiches, scones with Cornish clotted cream and jam, and a range of patisserie treats.
