Creating a vibrant garden filled with a variety of colours can result in a gorgeous display. However, certain flower colours are less common than others. One colour you may not have included in your garden yet is blue. Sadly, blue is a colour that is not frequently found in nature, making blue flowers more challenging to locate.
Charming blue flowers add a unique touch to gardens. Many planting schemes tend to focus on warm hues and lush greens, making blue appear more deliberate. Blue flowers provide contrast without being overly bold. Gardeners frequently miss out on blue varieties since genuine blue flowers can be quite rare, but numerous plants actually offer that hue with minimal effort, according to gardening expert Jason Wilson at Epic Gardening.

The only thing gardeners have to do is find the right balance to ensure this plant receives enough sunlight for flowering without excessive exposure that may bleach its leaves.
This plant has no serious issues with pests or disease, making it relatively “easy to care for”, provided its sun needs are managed.
2. Love-in-a-mist
Love-in-a-mist is a “beautiful annual plant” that produces fluffy blue flowers surrounded by a tangle of foliage, resembling mist.
These flowers thrive in full sun, though partial shade is beneficial in drier climates.
Jason claimed: “This short-lived plant is easy to care for, as it is virtually disease- and pest-free and requires minimal maintenance.”

4. Globe thistle
Globe thistle is an interesting plant to grow, with its spiky leaves and round flower heads in a “gorgeous shade of purple-blue”. It is a great addition to any garden, especially for those looking for “low-maintenance plants”.
Not to mention bloom timing overlaps at midsummer when many cool-toned flowers fade. Cutting them back after flowering can help maintain the plant’s health and may even encourage another round of blooms.
Jason said, “These plants self-sow easily, returning each year more beautiful than before.”
5. Himalayan blue poppy
Himalayan blue poppies are “stunning flowering plants that produce true blue blooms”.
They enjoy partial shade and flourish in shaded gardens. Nevertheless, they can be difficult to cultivate because they have specific environmental requirements.
The soil needs to be neutral to slightly acidic, keeping it moist yet well-drained, and they thrive in cooler summer conditions.
