I have had this begonia cutting in water for at least a month and a half now. It has grown a small new leaf in the meantime, and another is on the way, but no roots yet.

Is this widening part of the stem the start of it, or is it starting to rot? I just noticed it today, only focused on the node when I checked it before because I thought that's where the roots would come from

I can always just wait and see of course but I was curious so thought I would ask!

It looks fine, keep her in water. These guys grow thin roots and kinda slow imo
Mine took 3 months to start to root. Just change the water every so often.
