A plug might be best to keep humidity high. You could try without first and see how it goes. You could do a background with moss and sticks. Maybe a few rocks in the front or small plant like fittonia. Springtails are recommended for mold control. For [mine](https://imgur.com/a/VoQFAnc) i used ground up aquasoil mixed with water into a muddy paste to stick the moss to the back. Plant used (baby alocasia) is not suited for a small terrarium.
