Forget generic pub names like The Red Lion or The White Horse. The Trusty Servant Inn at Minstead is the only pub in the country with its unique moniker.
It dates back to the 1800s and has historic links with everyone from King William II to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Visitors from around the world mingle happily with locals – as well as ponies, pigs and other New Forest animals regularly seen on the lawn outside.
The huge garden is always packed on a sunny day and also offers a garden barn, the venue for the big day of many happy couples. With beautiful flowers and the sounds of nature, it makes a picturesque spot for lunch.
Staff pride themselves on their hearty homemade locally sourced pub grub, available all day every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a wide range of vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free options available. Steak and ale pie, lambs liver and other delights from the specials board prove particularly popular.

There’s also a packed programme of events, which includes quiz marathons, live music, themed food weeks and jukebox Fridays, allowing customers to play any song in return for a charity donation.
Matt Black will kick off the May Day bank holiday weekend on Friday May 1 with his unique act combining singing, piano playing and comedy, and the Minstead Fete will also make a welcome return.
