This plant (unsure of what type of cactus this is) is kept at a restaurant. It is water every two days by the caretaker which I believe may be too much. It receives indirect sunlight throughout the day through an open door but is kept inside. The other plants in the same pot seem to be doing well. The plant has been here for a few months and signs of illness started showing up about a month ago.

The variety of plants in the pot don’t have the same care needs. The cactus needs maximum light and infrequent water.
Can you explain more about “snapping”?
Cacti don’t belong in the same pot as moss and a pothos. They need to be in sandy, well-draining soil in a pot with a drainage hole. They need to get full sun, and to be watered infrequently, like once a month during the winter.
They are likely snapping because they are rotting, or because they are weakened from not getting enough light.
