Howdy folks. Last weekend I went to a nursery and bought a Santa Rosa plum tree to plant in my yard. Unfortunately, as you can see by the leaves, it looks to have what I think is “plum rust”?
I emailed the nursery but haven’t gotten a response yet. I’m not sure if I should do anything like remove the leaves, spray fungicide, if I’m even correct in diagnosing it as “plum rust”, etc.
I didn’t notice this until I got home. The nursery is a good drive away from where I live. I don’t have any other plants in my yard that look like this.
I’ve always bought superb selections from them, so I’m surprised that this happened. Lesson learned to inspect vs. impulse buy. Any advice would be appreciated!

Judging by the overall quality of the plant, I’m assuming this was from the bargain basement side of the nursery. If so, you got your money’s worth. Get it out of the pot, plant it, nurse it along as well as you can, but don’t expect much.
If this was NOT from the bargain bins, invest in a tank of gas and return it. And never shop there again. That plant was improperly pruned, has been in the pot too long, and overall looks terrible.
