The cold months are all about slowing down, resting up and planning for the warmer (and longer) days ahead. After a while though, it’s easy to get tired of staying in and grow restless for sunny spring weather, especially if you’re someone who loves spending time in the garden.

Luckily, heading into February, one gardening expert has some good news: there are seeds you can start this month, regardless of the temperature. That’s right, even though in some places, the frost and gray, freezing days aren’t going anywhere for now, Nicole Burke (founder of Gardenary, a platform with 1.5 million followers on Instagram) is giving gardeners permission to get right back into their favorite pastime.
