The queen of the kitchen Mary Berry is heading to the area to talk about another love – gardening.
As part of Rutland Nursery’s Authors in Conversation series, Dame Mary Berry will be visiting the garden centre’s restaurant The View overlooking Rutland Water to celebrate the release of her new book My Gardening Life.
The event takes place on Tuesday, March 10, from 6.45pm until 8.45pm, and tickets go on sale today (Saturday, January 31) here.

The event is a rare opportunity to hear Mary share the stories, insights and passions that have shaped her life in the garden.
Tickets cost £40 each, including refreshments and canapes on arrival, or £60 including a signed copy of Mary’s book. Ten per cent of ticket sales will be donated to Mary’s chosen charity.
In her memoir, Mary takes readers through her gardening journey – from the tiny childhood plot in Bath where her father’s seed packets first sparked her curiosity, to the shaded corners of her London home, and finally to her flourishing Oxfordshire garden.
Packed with personal anecdotes, practical tips on everything from containers to asparagus, and her favourite advice on nurturing roses, the book also includes contributions from gardening friends including Alan Titchmarsh, Sarah Raven and Bunny Guinness.
At Rutland Nursery, Mary will have an intimate interview with Chris Young, followed by a relaxed Q and A session, giving guests the chance to ask their own gardening questions.
