A dead cat has been found hanging from a dog lead in North London. The grim discovery was made in the garden of a home on Tottenham’s Gospatrick Road on January 20. The resident’s dog began barking at the fence at around 2.30pm, prompting the owner to investigate. They found the body on the opposite side, facing into a nearby alleyway.
The black-and-white feline is believed to be male, the RSPCA confirmed. He isn’t microchipped but is likely owned as the body appeared to be in good health. Inspector Jaqueline Schultz said: “It really beggars belief why someone would commit an act as cruel and sickening as this. There does not appear to be any CCTV cameras covering this location, so we would urge anyone with any information to get in touch as I am keen to find the person responsible.”

She is also keen to hear from witnesses who saw anything suspicious or may have Ring doorbell footage at the time of the incident or the day before. ‘Found’ posters have been distributed in the area in a bid to trace the owner.
The cat is described as being mostly black, with white whiskers, a white left back foot, white front toes, and white belly, throat and chin. His left upper lip was also white, and the right upper black.
