An 81-year-old Palm Beach Gardens woman has died from injuries she sustained when a sanitation truck hit her while she was out for a walk in PGA National, police said.
Investigators say Susan Schaufeld was walking near the intersection of Ryder Cup Boulevard and Glencairn Road shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 27 when a Waste Management truck struck her.
Schaufeld died Jan. 29 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, where paramedics took her she after the crash.
Police cited the sanitation truck’s driver with failing to yield to a pedestrian using a crosswalk. The crash remains under investigation.
