Hi all I recently moved to my new place and we have a paved courtyard. It came with 4 small trees on pots, pots were a bit ugly for us and the trees looked like they were not growing much more and tbh they weren't so aesthetic, also didnt provide much greenery on a lower level. So we sold them.
We were thinking a doing some research in order to get more green into our courtyard. We wanted to remove some pavers and make ground level garden beds, but we were told it's not a good idea to mess with it so apparently planter boxes are the way to go.
We want to go native and also have some screening and privacy above the existing white fence.
So my question, is the image posted something realistic? Is the slim callistemon a good plant for that purpose? Would that grow above the white fence? Would that one thrive in a planter box?
Open to any suggestion on plants and or arrange!
First picture is an AI test, second image is how it was before (it only had the trees on the black pots) and third one is kinda of a reference but wanted to make it more western Australian.

How much sun does the spot get? Theres plenty of choice re WA plants. Personally I hate bottlebrushes so I would go for other plants – but the choice depends on sunlight / other conditions (are you coastal?)
If the area heats up with all the paving you might have to approach it differently than if it stays cool/part shaded etc.
