OCALA, FL. (352today) — The Humane Society of Marion County is proud to announce a generous in-kind donation from The Yard Stop, which will demolish and rebuild the shelter’s Memorial Garden at 701 NW 14th Road, Ocala, FL, at no cost to the organization.

Demolition is scheduled to begin on Jan. 28, 2026, with The Yard Stop providing all labor and, with the help of Flagstone Pavers, materials for a full transformation of the space. The renovated Memorial Garden will feature new pavers, updated landscaping, and a brand-new gazebo, creating a safe, welcoming, and meaningful area for visitors to honor beloved pets while supporting the shelter’s mission.

The Yard Stop has been a longtime supporter of the Humane Society of Marion County since opening its doors in Ocala, and this project reflects its continued commitment to giving back to the local community and its animals.

Once completed, the Memorial Garden will offer memorial and sponsorship opportunities to the public, and in phase two of the project, columbarium walls will be constructed to provide a safe landing space for furry companions–providing a lasting way for donors to honor loved ones while directly supporting lifesaving work. These opportunities are expected to help the Humane Society raise hundreds of thousands of dollars in the coming years, significantly impacting animal care, medical treatment, and community programs.

The Humane Society of Marion County is a nonprofit organization that relies solely on the generosity of donors and community partners to fulfill its mission of preventing cruelty, suffering, and overpopulation of animals. Partnerships like this one make it possible to continue serving Marion County’s most vulnerable animals.

“We are so incredibly grateful to the wonderful partnership we have with our family at The Yard Stop. Without generous donors like The Yard Stop, we would not be able to do all that we do,” said Eddie Leedy, Humane Society of Marion County Executive Director.
