  1. You mentioned that the Rocky Mountain penstemon would be a great seed for traditional winter sowing in milk jugs. What would your top 10 seeds for winter sowing be?

  2. Have you ever thought about doing a mixed seed and scattering it in the borders? X or would it all get eaten by birds?

  3. Laura, I know you label your seed trays of what you plant, but do you save the seed packet envelope so you can remember what the expected blooms should look like? I remember you planting the poppy seeds with your mom and kids! I direct seeded some old poppy seeds mid-January, hoping for the best. They're buried in snow and ice right now! They're like ground pepper, so tiny!!

  4. What do garden centers do with last years seeds? So they send them back to the manufacturer where they go them or are the counted as a loss on their profits? Do they reduce the price and hope to sell out? I have always wondered that. I appreciate all you do, your family and you but mostly appreciate the wholesome, clean content. I love that you let Christ light shine from within you. ❤❤❤

  5. Laura, I had to smile. You were planting red poppies while I was drinking my morning coffee from a mug covered with red poppies. It’s not often that I smile before the caffeine kicks in! 😜

  6. Please be careful of the pressure on the glass. Can’t see how thin the glass is, and hope it won’t crack under your pressure. 🤗

  7. You have the best job in the world…playing in the dirt with a purpose! Love getting my hands “dirty” during seed starting. The smell of the soil is energizing with the promise of beauty to come!

  8. I just love Laura. The amount of work that she manages to get done on the daily is astounding! I would love to see a timeline of her day. ❤

  9. I didn’t have any luck throwing poppy seeds on the ground, but I had fabulous luck with just throwing the seeds in a couple planters

  10. -10 in Central PA when I woke up today. Has been below zero every day this week and no warmer than 14. It's mental and physically taxing and seeing the green in the cold frames reminds me that better days are coming.

  11. Mint has a DEEP ROOT 10 to 15 inches below ground….. Years ago I was able to dig it completely out of garden bed.

  12. I have been waiting to see how long it took Laura to figure out there is 55 paper pots. I understand with how much she has going on. Spring is coming soon.

  13. Laura have you ever tried roasted radishes? They are less peppery if your kids don’t like that.

  14. I learned that it's better to store onions and potatoes in seperate rooms if possible as the onions make the potatoes sprout much faster when stored in the same room. I also make smashed potatoes and add Brewer's Yeast just before eating them. I find that it's tastier than parmesan.

  15. Your cold frame experiment is doing great Laura!
Aren’t we all interesting and different individuals! I find it interesting how you don’t close your lips around your fork as you pull your fork out of your mouth. 🤷🏻‍♀😄

  16. Lisianthus will not germinate until the coating on the seeds dissolves. If you spray the seed with your mister until the coating is gone, they will germinate in about a week. At least that is how it has worked for me.

  17. COOKING TIP: Start potatoes in cold water and bring them up to a boil together, this lets the heat penetrate evenly so the inside and outside cook at the same pace, giving you a perfectly even texture. 🥔

  18. I really enjoy those cold frames, my husband is extending the shed, so I'm asking if he could build something along the back. I get east and west sun there.

  19. WHAT A FUN VIDEO – THE SMASHED POTATOES WITH GARLIC SAUCE – WAS HARD FOR ME TO SEE – SO I TOOK A PICTURE AND USED "AI" TO IDENTIFY — Delizie di Calabria Calabrian Chili Garlic Sauce – IT IS NOT SOLD BY OUR LOCAL STORES IN NORTH CAROLINA BUT AVAILABLE ON GOOD OLE "AMAZON" – AROUND 8.00 PER JAR. ENJOY MY GARDEN ANSWER FRIENDS! HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY & WHOEVER IS PRAYING FOR SNOW — PLEASE STOP!

  20. The first time I tasted calabrian chili paste (from Trader Joe's)… I was addicted! The calabrian chiles are SO DELICIOUS! I hope to order my own seeds this year so I can make my own.

  21. So nice to see planting!!! Pentstemon is my favorite! We in central SC are expecting 5-10" of snow tomorrow.

  22. Seeds 😊 so comforting to watch then yummy potato Im Irish got to love the good potatoes 🤗.
    Take care xx xx xx💐

  23. Monicasssssss can make the garlic chili video with you after her foot heals — we would love it !
Can you grow that type of chili anywhere in US? Love how you tie gardening and cooking together ❤

  24. I know you have said there’s only so much seed starting that we can watch, but I learn something every time you go through the process..seeding the penstamon and poppies in the cold frame was a new thing for me to see…I’ve been following since 2018…I have become a better gardener because of your channel! Thank you Laura.

  25. Chives will do great in a container in your greenhouse (or green onion tops!). And they air dry beautifully so you can keep up with the vigorous growth.

  26. I popped my seeds into ice trays and then put water in them. Let them freeze, and then I planted them into soil blocks the larger ones after the poppy seeds have been in the ice cubes for about three months and the ground is workable, they grew!! I was so happy to see that!! 😁
