Hey everyone, welcome back to the channel! It’s a crisp December day here on the homestead and Laurie and I are knocking out a bunch of those satisfying winter-prep jobs that have been on the list forever.
Today you’ll see Laurie giving the solar panels a proper snow removal, sorting out all the wiring as we get ready to rebuild the shop, and then we team up for a super fun, zero-cost project: turning old IBC tote bladders and lumber stickers into sturdy snow guards to protect our beautiful Japanese maples from heavy winter snow loads.
And while all that’s going on, I’m in the shop melting down some paraffin wax and cotton rounds to make a big batch of reliable fire starters—perfect for the wood stove this season.
