NEW YORK (WABC) — For most of the year, Madison Square Garden welcomes sports teams, musicians, and even some comedians… but soon it’s going to the dogs.
This year, the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is marking its 150th anniversary.
A milestone like this, calls for a celebration fit for the best in show.
The show will feature 2,500 champions coming to compete from all over the world. All 50 states are represented. In addition, 18 foreign countries with dogs are coming to compete. The show will also have every breed represented.
New this year is a show-inspired menu, thanks to New York institutions like Bake By Melissa, Funny Face Bakery, Tao, Serendipity, and Pauly G’s.
Entertainment reporter Joelle Garguilo spoke to Dr. Donald Sturz, President of the Westminster Kennel Club, about this year’s show.
You can watch her full interview in the media player above.
And if you want to check out the show, you can get tickets at westminsterkennelclub.org.
The main attraction is on Monday and Tuesday.
