Monty Don told the BBC’s One Show that there was simply no contest.
The gardening authority and presenter, whose show often comes from his Longmeadow garden, added that it was NOT because the country has the best gardeners in the world.
“People complain about it all the time,” Monty told BBC, ” But it is because we have the BEST climate, we have wonderful soil. It’s easy for us.”
That seems to be even as he struggles with repeated flooding:

When his pride in British gardens comments were posted on social media, there were some interesting responses from some of his 1.3 million followers of his Instagram account themontydon.
One was in total agreement posting: ” Agree! I garden in Perth, Western Australia and it’s hard work – difficult soil, wet winter, super hot and dry summer, kangaroos eating my roses etc. I am so jealous whenever I visit family in the UK, I love visiting English gardens.”
