Kiplin Hall and Gardens, between Northallerton and Richmond, will reopen to the public on Friday, February 6, inviting visitors to enjoy its annual snowdrop strolls and explore the surrounding woodland.
The 17th-century estate features both formal and wild gardens, a museum, and a historic hall.

This season, the in-house café will debut a new exhibition of seasonal garden photography by Helen Tabor, an award-winning photographer based in Ripon.
Ms Tabor said: “Photographing buildings and gardens has become my greatest joy; nothing makes my heart sing more.
“I have especially enjoyed seeing Kiplin in all its shades, from early morning dew to daytime glory, in full summer and at the height of its wonderful autumnal colour.
“The grounds are both tranquil and inviting, offering intriguing angles to set botanicals in the spotlight against the man-made architecture and wider sweep of the surrounding woodland.”

Her photographs, scaled up and printed on large canvases, create “windows into the world that awaits visitors to Kiplin Hall and Gardens.”
The café is part of Kiplin’s new visitor centre, which opened in 2025 in the courtyard and welcomes both ticket holders and café-only customers.
Beyond the café, visitors can wander through the walled garden, stroll along lakeside paths, and explore woodland walks surrounding the 400-year-old hall.
The photography display complements Kiplin’s 2026 theme, Plants, Trees and the Country House, part of the Yorkshire County House Partnership.

A new exhibition on the top floor of the hall, titled Wood: from utility to beauty, will showcase wooden objects from the museum’s collection.
Items on display range from domestic kitchenware to ornate decorative furniture, crafted from both native and exotic woods.
The season also features Kiplin’s popular snowdrop walks, with swathes of the delicate white flowers blooming throughout the gardens.
The displays attract visitors outdoors regardless of the weather.
Kiplin Hall and Gardens will be open six days a week, closing only on Thursdays.
The estate’s snowdrop strolls are a highlight of the spring season.
