I moved into the property last year and this tree has doubled in size in 6 months. I think it’s a palm tree (??) – google says it can’t be cut from top as this will kill it. Am considering having it removed nut would prefer to keep if I can manage it relatively easily.

    I don’t think it’s a palm, possibly either a cordyline or a yucca? It certainly looks very happy though!

    They don’t really prune well as they’re just stem and leaves, but as they grow, the lower down leaves drop off; you might find it manages itself for you as it will reach a point where it doesn’t get any wider, just taller.

    Don’t really trim cordylines just tidy up the dead foliage and so forth.. Its in the wrong location but looks great just needs a good tidy up
