A garden in Somerset is opening early for a special winter event.
Yeo Valley Organic Garden will open to the public on Saturday, February 20, and Sunday, February 21, from 10am to 5pm, as part of the Shepton Mallet Snowdrop Festival.
Visitors will have the chance to explore the garden’s Woodland Walk and Birch Grove, where carpets of snowdrops create a seasonal display.
Sarah Mead, garden owner and creator said: “These little bulbs might be small, but they are mighty.
“Planted together in great drifts, they really put on a show.
“We divide and replant the clumps every year to keep the winter magic growing.
“It’s one of those simple garden rituals that always brings joy.”
Snowdrops are the main attraction, but the garden will also feature hellebores and colourful displays from willow and cornus stems.
The on-site café will serve light lunches and homemade cakes, while the garden shop will offer snowdrop-themed sculptures, tools and gifts.
Visitors can also purchase Yeo Valley Organic dairy products and soups to take home.
Admission is £8 for adults, £2 for children aged three to 11, and free for under-twos.
Half of all ticket sales will go towards supporting the Shepton Mallet Snowdrop Project.
The event comes ahead of the garden’s full reopening for its 2026 season, which begins on Thursday, April 9.
From that date, the garden will be open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday until the end of October.
