Thanks for all these great ideas ๐
Loved the video thanks! ๐ I think that the best 2 tips for me was watering appropriately and knowing the requirements of the plant you are planting. Iโve killed many plants by overwatering and/or putting them in too much sun or shade ๐คทโโ๏ธ
All 10 tips are very important to new gardens. Great video lots of good information and helpful.
I would add two. Number one, if you are purchasing plants, buy the smaller size. Number two, I have found plants grown on-site at independent garden centers fare better, oftentimes, than plants trucked in from other locations..
Thanks for sharing all these great tips!
I was just looking at Lisianthus plugs from Farmer Bailey. Looking for someone in the Austin area to share plugs. The smallest tray you can get is 125 plugs. 80.00 for one tray of 125
We have a worm bed and my husband makes worm tea for me and some of my clients.

Great job!

Check perennials when you buy them at a garden centre, oftentimes thereโs more than one plant in a pot.
Amanda, love your show. I'm your neighbor in Plano Tx. I have a question regarding the Berger potting mix. Do you sift it prior to using it for seed starting? Thanks in advance.
Great video for all gardeners!!!!!!!!!!
Great tips
Solo cups…one with holes and 2nd one with water allows to water when needed…particularly wanting to use dry soil to start seedlings. Ideal for tomatoes because start with half cup of soil and as grows, take off lower leaves and and more soil. Tomatoe will root more from their stem…allows to build more root system and stronger plant when put outside. It works

Wow this is such a great video with awesome ideas!!! I'm so glad I stopped by! LOVE what you said at the end. I need to stop comparing myself and being influence too much by others, LOVE LOVE LOVE! ๐๐๐ Liz
Yes, it's so hard not to compare yourself to others on social media. I have to tell myself that my budget is different from them. That I am the only one working on my garden so sometimes my garden doesn't look like I want it to look. We often forget that there's a lot of work going on behind the scenes.
I agree with having mulch and drip irrigation. I have to water using a sprinkler that I move around my garden. it will literally take me two days to water everything. It's awful. While I enjoy seeing what's growing, it's such a hassle to have to go out and move my hose especially during our triple digit weather.
Another thing I love is getting plants from neighbors. I have a lovely neighbor who gives me plants. I have given neighbors plants and currently I'm giving my mom plants because she moved. She is accepting anything because there is no budget to buy plants. I have neighbors who have asked about a plant and I tell them I'll dig it up when it's the right time for you so don't be afraid to talk to your neighbors that love to garden, you might get free plants. ๐
Loved this video. You have so much to teach. I also learn a lot from your journal video. I use chobani yogurt cups and strawberry containers. Anything useable that I purchase food in.
'what about seeds collecting and cuttings

I garden, because i love flowers, shrubs and sll it entails. Oh and that it helps me keep stress away
Do you have any videos about watering with the wicks? Or what key words I should look for in your video titles?
you can use an old garden hose as a soaker hose, by poking holes in the location of your plants. Use a hammer and large spike nail.
This was a great video! I'm in north Texas and I started a little patio garden. My tomatoe plants and peppers didn't not start fruiting until like September October and I know it was from the heat. They were toooo hot and my patio gets a lot of sun. Bout the time my tomatoes starting fruiting it was too late.๐ฅบ
I like using all my grass clipping and leaves for mulch. I also use shaved pine bedding that I buy for my chickens. It helps a lot
Hi Mad Gardener ๐
๐
I am a member of two Facebook groups that have pant swaps twice a year. One also has a seed swap every January. I just got three new to me seeds yesterday from the swap and I got to spend a couple hours talking plants with other plant people.
I WINTER SOW SEEDS. MAY IS THE CITY MASTER GARDEN CLUB SALE IN LOCAL PARK AND THE NEXT TOWN OVER HAS 2 SALES BETWEEN MAY AND JUNE LOCAL GARDEN CLUB AND THIER MASTER.GARDERS.
One thing I try to do is collect rain water. It has such good โstuffโ in it.๐.

How do you keep gnats out of the compost?
