In light of local anticipation for the Tacoma Home & Garden Show, we reached out to one of its organizers, Marketplace Events Group Manager Stephanie Gatzionis, to gauge how to best make the most of one’s time at the Jan. 29-Feb. 1 event. Here’s what she had to say.

Tell us about what makes this home show valuable for folks in the South Sound and beyond to attend.

The 2026 Tacoma Home & Garden Show, presented by Puyallup Chocolates, celebrates the best of South Sound living, showcasing the latest trends in home improvement, design, and gardening through immersive displays and interactive experiences. Guests can tour two full-scale model homes presented by Wilder RV, including a modern ADU, and explore innovative renovation, décor, and lifestyle ideas from trusted local professionals. The show provides the opportunity for the local community and beyond to connect with experts and find fresh ideas for every project, all under one roof.

What are some on-trend home and garden topics/highlights this year?

This year’s top home and garden trends at the Tacoma Home & Garden Show focus on low-maintenance, sustainable spaces that offer high impact — like less lawn, resilient plants, smart container gardening, and maximizing small outdoor spaces and patios. There is also growing interest in sensory and wellness gardens, herbs for both beauty and use, and garden-to-table living that connects growing, cooking, and everyday enjoyment.

What can someone do to get the most value out of their visit?

The Tacoma Home & Garden Show includes an array of opportunities for attendees, including the Plant Market, PlantCon International’s PNW debut, the Gray Girl Farms Pop-Up, stunning garden installations, South Sound living-garden displays, expert speakers, daily seminars, a live cooking demonstration, exclusive show specials, and giveaways. We encourage all attendees to take a look at the vendor list and show features to explore their options.

Additionally, opening-day admission on Thursday, Jan. 29, will be free for all guests, courtesy of Hunt’s Services. Free parking will be available throughout the weekend, along with special free admission opportunities for heroes. Active and retired military personnel, first responders, and government workers are invited to enjoy complimentary admission every day of the show. Educators and school staff receive free admission on Sunday, Feb. 1. Bring valid credentials to the box office to claim your ticket — one free ticket per credential.
