Sorry for the confusion: in the beginning of the video I say “winter sowing” and I must have had a glitch but I definitely wanted to talk about cold stratification but instead said winter sowing. Oops! Sorry for any confusion!
I’ve been wondering why I haven’t had any luck getting bee balm to sprout. Now I know why. I’m looking forward to finally having bee balm in my garden this year Thank you!!
I am getting seeds sent from Pennsylvania to Minnesota. It's well bellow 0° when they get to my mailbox. Does that hurt any seeds and does that count as being cold stratified ?
.,.They didn't form like that overtime God made him like that from the beginning of time. God is the heart, soul an blood of nature… Stay blessed 🙏 great video!
Cold stratified asparagus seeds – UC-157 – that I got from you 3 years ago. Had great germination and as of this past fall they were doing great in my garden. Sure hope the extreme cold we're having doesn't do them in, because this is the first year we can harvest!
Good explanation! Once you have put your seeds in soil and there is more than enough time for them to germinate but they don't. Do you just add more of the same seeds to that pot?
I just realized I should probably grow me a nut tree. I like nuts in so many things like cereals, hot cereal, cold cereal, yogurt, baked goods, salads, or just for snacking with a few veggies. Seems like grocery stores charge way too much for them, but they're so good and nutritious!
Quick question, can we do winter sowing with perennials or should we cold stratify? Also, can we just put them in dirt in the fridge to cold stratify? I had a very difficult time last year with poppies, cone flowers and comfrey.

My new batch of seeds arrived today! Can't wait to get them winter sowed 🙂
Is it ok if they start germinating while trying to cold stratify seeds?

Lavender and comfrey for me
Can I cold stratify just throwing the packet of seeds in the refrigerator? And planting later?
After removing them from the fridge can you place them on a heat mat to see if they germinate or just into soil?
What spray bottle do you have? I need that for my grow room 😂😂😂
I wanted to germinate some hickory nuts I found, so I just stuck them in a container and they stay outside. Nothing stratifies like actual Winter 😅
I put my lavender in the freezer- last year! 🤦🏼♀️ Completely forgot about them. I’ll try to put them out this year!
How do you do St. John’s wort
I will be cold stratifying my mullien again and this year I am adding Good King Henry.
paw paw seeds m, .m mkk
Just placed an order today including a heat mat, seed tray and of course, garden markers 😅🎉
What about Artichokes? Can I do the same thing with the seeds ? Or do I need to go ahead and vernalize the plants?

I wasn't aware that poppies need cold stratifying! No wonder i seem to fail with them! Nice one Luke 😊
