Good morning Kaye; Getting ready for the same storm we are supposed to get here in Oklahoma. I don't believe we will get much this far north and usually the bad stuff hits the south half of the state but you never know. So did you keep any firewood or kindling?

Wow what a huge job that was taking down that tangled mess of trees from the storm a while back. My dad and brother used to take down trees for neighbors and he usually did it free if he could have some of the wood. Very dangerous work and not sure I would have had the courage to get back into it after all Hans went thru to recover. So glad he was able to help you get your yard cleaned up and pray for all those in the path of the coming storm this weekend too. Winter has definitely arrived and stores were low on lots of staples this morning as word got out. Stay safe everyone…

Some of those guys aren't wearing ear protection; they will be deaf in their later years. Up here in Canada, they cut trees, using cherry pickers rather than climbing up – seems less dangerous to me.

Hubby wanted to take down a 40 foot oak tree. It was pretty much dead. He was not fond of the idea of taking out such a large tree but I said, "Let's watch a YouTube video on how to fell a tree!" So we watched a video and worked up the courage to do this thing! And we did it with no problems. We just followed what the guy did in the video and the tree fell where we wanted it to fall. I was literally laser focused on that tree willing it to fall in the direction we needed to. Never have I been so nervous!
For the tree next to the pole barn we hired a crew and they were like Hans and his crew; Professional!! It was truly amazing to watch them at work.
So glad that Hans is fully recovered! I will say it again, what would we women do without men!? They are our heroes. ❤
That one tree made me nervous just watching.
