  2. Good video, but not in chicago. We oftentimes have freezing cold temperatures and snow and ice in february. And all the way to the middle of march. So there's no way to start outside with the vegetables that you started inside weeks earlier.Would be too cold to plant them

  3. Not to be an ass but there are no reasons for you to keep saying "the xyz crops that you need to plant from seeds in january are..etc" as you have put that into the title of the video. For those that have tick tock brains that is not your problem if they do not understand what you are saying without repeating every few mins. 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 :D.

  4. Subscribed!!

We recently moved from IN to GA… I know nothing about gardening in Georgia!
I'm in my 60s & have lived in IN all my life & pretty much the same county!!

I know I'm in for a shock!! Lol

  5. I'm in your same zone – just a little south of you in SC, I like to plant Siberian tomatoes nice and early in buckets. They are tolerant down to 30* so I dont have to bother bringing them in as much.

  6. Great video. Curious, when are you harvesting Siletz in the spring? You have inspired me to grow a couple this spring in pots here in Boston and take advantage of the microclimate alongside the house.

  7. what about winter sowing (outside)? About to start some flowers (that need cold stratification) and will sow some spinach & lettuce this way soon, other veg to follow (Seattle, 9A)

  8. Hello, I watch your channel on all the time. I'm located in Central NC, near Southern Pines. I have a question for a local grower meaning in NC or close to my location. Have you been able to grow egg plant, grows very small or burns in the sun and Kohlrabi will not bulb? My garden is above ground like yours. Three years of trying and no luck.

  9. How do I get rid of rats??? I’ve tried a spray, statues, noise sensors, and now I put out bait boxes. They’re still eating all my greens. Help!

  10. I start peppers in the house in January because we only have a few weeks of warm weather in the summer (which starts July 5) Also they take a long time to germinate.

  11. Does anyone know what type of ground cover he is using for the garden? It looks like a black tarp or something similar. I am about to build a new food forrest / garden on my new property and looking for what to put down on the ground to put all my raised beds and containers on. I live in central florida which is great for growing but we have mostly sand so containers work better. I just don't know what to put on the ground under them.

  12. Chard grows really well in my garden but only recently I was able to find a good way to eat it. In September, I made stuffed chard rollups and it was so good. I am extra excited to grow chard this year 😂

  13. I'm between San Francisco and Sacramento zone 9B. I've been lucky to keep celery volunteers for the last 18 months. It's nice to get what ever I need for cooking or the occasional Bloody Mary!

  14. I'll have to try the tomatoes next year like this.. rolling in and out while 9 months pregnant is a no thank you from me lol

  15. Man that’s so weird that you have problems with celery. I live near the outer banks and celery has reseeded itself everywhere including my lawn.

  16. Planting zone maps show my area is 6a to 9a, but most show 8b. We rarely get below 30°, so I am going to go with 9a. My peach, fig, and mulberry lost their leaves, but citrus is growing. Sometimes hard to figure out when to put out bedding plants, but I generally wait until April with covers at night.

  17. Fellow Seasonal Affective Disorder sufferer here…this gives me HOPE! Thank you so much!!!

  18. I love your videos I am basically completely opposite of you Oregon zone 8 I always get so confused My light set up is in the garage but it's extra cold this year not sure what I'm diing
