In seed plants, the sporophyte is the part most of us would consider a tree or herb.

The gametophyte is tiny – it is the pollen grains and a portion inside an ovule.

Easy way to think about it is the sporophyte is diploid (assuming no polyploidy) and the gametophyte is haploid. Most tissues etc are diploid.

Question asked which is NOT a character of seed plants. Which on the list is not found in seed plants, which would include both gymnosperms and angiosperms. “A” is the correct answer. Show your instructor the book.
