KETCHUM, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — For over thirty years, the Sawtooth Botanical Garden has been a place for nature lovers across the Magic Valley, and now they are asking for the public’s help.
Historically, the Enlist Fund has watched over and helped manage the Sawtooth Botanical Garden’s finances. They have watched the garden grow financially and in popularity, attracting 24,000 visitors each year. In July of 2024, the Enlist Fund decided it was time to sell the land to the Sawtooth Botanical Gardens for their ownership.
Officials with the Sawtooth Botanical Garden are seeking donations to raise $800,000 to purchase the five acres of land on which the garden operates.
Executive Director Jen Smith said owning the land would open more grant opportunities and allow them to offer more educational opportunities for visitors.
“We have a whole list of capital improvements we’d like to progress with,” Smith said. “Including another greenhouse that would help us with year round educational programs. We’re looking at an indigenous people’s garden, showcasing the Shoshone-Bannock Tribe.”
Smith said they need the funds raised by or before July 1.
Anyone interested in donating can contact the Sawtooth Botanical Garden at (208) 726-9358. You can also email them at info@sbgarden.org or go to their website.
