I think I should explain my UTTER DISDAIN for Doordash (as well as Grubhub, Uber Eats, etc.). The way I see it, when you want anything in life you have 2 choices. Either make/ get it yourself, or pay someone to do it. But obviously the second option costs us money, and when it becomes the norm it means we lose both money AND knowledge. For 99% of human civilization every family group raised or hunted and gathered their own food. Made it themselves. Everyone was self sufficient. When we started to form towns and later cities we changed so that only select people did the raising/ gathering of foodstuffs and the rest traded for them. Over time they lost the knowledge of how to raise and gather their own food and food started to cost more. When the industrial revolution came along companies started creating stores that bought all the food for you and put it in one place. Then entire communities lost the knowledge of growing their own food and food became more expensive. In the mid 1900s with the advent of the microwave and "keeping up with the jonses" it started gradually becoming more in vogue to buy pre-cooked foods from stores or restaurants. Gradually more and more people lost the knowledge of how to cook their own food too, and the cost of food doubled again. That's where we stood for most of my life. Now with the rise 9f the internet were seeing ANOTHER loss of knowledge and doubling of food prices as people no longer even go out to get their pre-cooked food. It's a bad precedent and I believe we're going in the wrong direction. We should be REMEMBERING how to cook, and how to raise and gather our own food. Bringing the cost of food DOWN. Instead we're losing the simple knowledge of how to drive and shop and interact with people and in return we're letting them double the cost of food again. Put your foot down. Learn to cook. Learn to grow and raise food. At VERY LEAST go to the store or restaurant and buy your own meals. Put Doordash out of business with me.
As a holistic the health practitioner specializing in Stage III/IV cancer – love, love, love & agree 1000% your message! Happy, healthy 2026 new year 2 u & yours. 😊
I disagree. You have pretty good appearance, personally I like the way you're nice in general, and thoughtful to explain at first complex and confusing topics in a way that it becomes relatively simple in such a short time. Anyone who listens to you just needs to put a little effort to process information and that would help them to understand importance of it. Besides, looking at the world today, with the economical struggles and poisoned foods, I think it's crucial to learn and pay attention to what we consume. And I quite enjoy how homegrown produces taste seemingly way better than that of a store bought. I doubt that's just an illusion. But I'd always prefer homegrown produces. Thanks to you, we are able to try ourselves. There's really no excuse to not to, even if it seems difficult, people could start with easy low effort batches of produce, to slowly get used to it. Since health is getting really expensive and by consuming processed foods it only increased the chances of having declining health over the years. Also, happy new year.
