In today’s video, we’re sharing our 2026 garden plans and long-term garden dreams. From small tweaks to big, visionary ideas, this video walks through 10 projects we’re dreaming up for our cottage-style garden.
We talk through everything from extending existing flower beds and refining our planting plans to larger features like installing a parterre garden, adding an arbor to our deck, and creating more structure in the garden.

Very exciting! Looking forward to seeing your visions come to life. Also hoping the ice storm is not as bad as what they’re saying for your area as well as mine in Virginia.
So many great ideas! I love the arbor over the deck that will be beautiful and you will love it. When we built our deck we were able to put a roof over it. The best decision we ever made. We live out there all summer. It gives us shade and the best part is sitting out there when it rains. It’s magical listening and watching the rain.
An ambitious but very doable list. Can’t wait to see the progress. 🌸
Shhhhhh! My favorite show is on 🤩
Would love for you to share your big coffee table books! Was hoping to find some through your Amazon link but it doesn’t work😕
How exciting!
Great show! I'm interested in visiting the Garden Show in May. ( Columbia S.C )
Autumn clematis on the front fence, an idea, too.
Love love the ideas & project list. You got this!
Whoa, on the parterre garden, aren’t we then talking about retaining walls? Water flow? This would need a big time evaluation…you don’t want to updo the natural landscape and not know what drainage problems would occur. Whoa.
Great ideas guys! What would you think about a mirrored door, instead of a gate…like Robbie on Visit Our Garden has. Also, to save some money on your projects. The Amish are great builders. Maybe you could hire a few to help you with your arbor or wall.
At aprox 44 min you are talking about your side of the house area and putting a gate. Great idea. For the bench for plants how about using concrete block and 2×6’s? It gives you two layers like people who grow orchids use. Check out how to display/store orchids for a video. I have orchids and plan on making one this year after several years of frustration on how to display them when they aren’t blooming. Or Laura from Garden Answer has a great tutorial on how she makes her tables for her greenhouses. Really enjoying your planning session. 😊
I started out with gravel under my trash cans and it was a big pain. I eventually hired someone to dig it out to match the driveway height and poured concrete and built them in with gate. Best thing I did and now you don’t even know they are there.
Not a garden question…but can you tell me the maker and pattern name/number of the wallpaper in the room you filmed this video? I LOVE it and am getting ready to do some re-wallpapering. Thank you!
Ohh a custom arbor at the entrance of the union garden would be magical. Excited to see the continuing evolution of the beautiful gardenscape.
What a great video! So many wonderful ideas! And I absolutely love the close-ups of Tyler! 😁
You both have done a wonderful job with your garden. Looking forward to seeing what you do in 2026, all great ideas.
Hi guys – really enjoying hearing about your plans for 2026. It's all very exciting, isn't it! You mentioned that the Union Garden has really lousy soil. I had a similar problem in a garden some years back. If you're feeling energetic, do seriously consider lifting up all the perennials, and doing a major overhaul of the soil. Since it's clay, add plenty of coarse sand for drainage, and organic material to improve the structure of the soil. It's a lot of work, but if you do it now before renovating that area, you will be forever glad that you made the effort. Best of luck! And enjoy being on the tour – I've been on several and it's SO much fun.
