Weather warfare, government wants famine
So you don’t need a ring around the tree? Just a main line with 2 drip holes is plenty enough?
Why not wait until after this freeze to install it?
I think you should have used 1 in tubing for the distance you are using. I only have an acre and I am sorry I only used 1/2 inch. Keep us informed but I think you made an expensive mistake.
Can't believe you guys are having the fimbulwinter soon… Ragnarök awaits…
I can’t for the life of me figure out why you’re trying to do this now?!!? 🤷🏻♀️ You certainly won’t need drip irrigation in the winter OR during the spring thaw when everything is wet. Just install it in the spring after things begin to dry up—EVERY part of this process will be much easier … including uncoiling the tubing.
I imagine you'd have to blow the lines out in sections in the fall to winterize the line to prevent it from freezing and cracking?
This is exactly what I needed before I install drip in my home orchard! I was debating putting the main line in a trench, but I wasn’t sure if that was a good idea. Glad to know you have done it with success. How do you winterize the drip lines before winter? Do you undo the end cap and use some kind of air compressor to blow the lines out?
I’m happy to be here in central Texas where we get very little snow. ❤
Excited to see the orchard ion a few years!
