  1. I’m a beginner knitter also can you please please do a video on how to fix the dropped stitches I have the same issue and have not knitted in awhile because it’s so frustrating 😊🧶

  2. I think it might be the same storm that is to hit us on Sunday here in Canada, going to make stew and get things to nibble on. Other than that we will hunker down, the only thing I will have to do is take the dog out for potty which will be quick cause he is old and hates bad weather LOL When you go to Boston layer, layer, layer. Moisture wicking fabrics close to the skin, with wool or wool like fabrics then a wind proof layer on the outside. One thing we do here as well is when you put your socks on put plastic bags over your feet before you put your boots on. Nothing worse than finding out the hard way that you have a leak in your boots.

  3. I am so glad you're doing a seed haul soon! I was starting to worry. Lol! Love you guys and prayers the storm isn't too bad for you all!

  4. Hey there Jess! What you are working on doing are called cowls <3 scarves are long and have ends cowls are loops <3 They are sooooo cool and cute

  5. Jess, your knitting progress is incredible!!😍 As a fellow crocheter wanting badly to learn to knit…do you have any YouTube channel recommendations for teaching beginners? (If you used YouTube to learn!😬❤)

  6. I actually love the being bad at something stage 😂 I spent way too long not trying fully new things. Like I’ve knit for years and most of the time I either fully know or sorta know what to do. And then I picked up watercolors a few months ago and I am aaaawful at it. And it’s so fun to do something new and challenging again 😂

  7. That purple yarn is so pretty. The star blanket is beautiful. I think I would lay that on top of my bed after it's made. Would be like layed over the center of the bed, even if it stayed the size that it is here.
Ya'll stay safe and warm with this winter storm coming. I know what you mean about, (in the clear,) weather forecasts. We are in south Alabama, they say that we will only get rain, but I am prepared all the same. I've heard the weather people say that a hurricane is not coming to us but then it shifts east or west quickly and catches some unprepared. This ice storm could do whatever it wants to despite the forecasts. I'm ready just in case.
    Be blessed Sowards family. <3

  8. I have several of those Trader Joe’s bags that your projects are in and they are so functional. My regular tote-er around-ers.

  9. A heads up on the stocking caps, if you really want a warm hat, it needs to be lined. The wind will whip through the holes very easily. My favorite are knitted on the outside and lined with fleece. That's a warm hat!

  10. This fall I finally learned to crochet. I could knit, but I had been trying to learn for years to crochet and finally figured it out! lol

  11. Learning to knit was one of the best things I did. Omg I love making socks and children’s sweaters. My kids are probably sick of me making them clothes 😂

  12. I’ve definitely used my share of makeshift tripods so a candle jar doesn’t seem weird at all to me 😂 I hope you all stay safe and warm through this storm! 💕

  13. Hi from Scotland hi jess here in scotland in the next few days on the Highlands of Scotland it has to snow 30 inch and where I am just outside Edinburgh we are forecast for heavy snow fall hope the snow is not to bad at least the boys will enjoy it ,your knitting and crochet is beutifull take care sry safe Anne from Scotland 🎉

  14. Yay. I see Bear! I realized (at 4 AM est) the other day I haven't seen Bear in a while. I have a GSD ( I think your boy is a mix, but I have a love for these dogs) and I was worried something might haven't happened to that handsome boy. So glad to be wrong.

  15. FYI…granite grit/chicken grit (crushed shells) works GREAT for traction for walking. My husband carries a large coffee can full of it in the ambulance he works in in case of a very slippery driveway, walkway etc . I thought your family and others that see this message might be helped by the information/tip..

  16. Hey Jess, I have been stocking up on dried beans. Can I store them in a food grade bucket or do I need to store in vacuum sealed bags or jars?

  17. I understand the cold north stuff like my water line comes in in indy 6 ft below ground even if it happens here a nasty natural gas fireplace it can heat my home. No power required

  18. I hope you are talking about the weekend after the storm. Boston is going to get 2 feet of snow. Everything will get cancelled.

  19. Been watching Ryan hall . I know you have your preparations . Prayers for best outcome. Glad you got real coats for the kids!

  20. Oh girl, I live in Vermont and please bring snowpants, and snow gloves. We have negative temps up here at night and teens during the day but wind chill makes it feel colder. They will love the snow.

  21. Hope you all weather the storm well and that you and your family stay safe. You were the one who inspired me to try crochet again after my grandmother tried to teach me when I was very young. I love seeing your fiber projects!

  22. That's what I am doing as well, Chicken and rice and beans.
God have mercy on all of us, we too have ice storm in Georgia. Blessings! ❤

  23. Gorgeous purple merino! I call those projects like your "bedspread", my "forever projects". That way I never feel guilty about "get it done", and it feels great when I finish it. Thinking of you in this so cold weather. The next one is on it's way to us now.

  24. Feel your pain about knitting, I took to crochet so fast! You're doing well knitting, I couldn't get my tension right hahahaha! Silk or wool longjohns are soooo wonderful! I know y'all aren't struggling, but if you are buying coats, check out like Ross or TJ Maxx or even the Thrift stores or maybe the used sporting goods stores…I mean if they're only going to wear it one trip…heh!
