  1. I love winter sowing! I have done it for the past 2 years with great results. I am still trying to figure out if i will be able to plant a garden this year. I need a fence around my garden because we have ground hogs, raccoons and opossums that have been eating everything I have tried to grow, and at this time I just dont have the money for fencing 😢

  2. I was so happy to see you this morning! Glad you’re feeling better. The video is wonderful. I need to try this for sure. I ordered all kinds of flower seeds. I want to encourage the pollinators and look at the beauty. I pray they all make and yours too. ❤

  3. You are beautiful and lovely and I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the things you help me with. Which is a lot lol

  4. Good Morning Kaye! So glad to see you are feeling much better and doing this project indoors would be preferred to what's happening with the unpredictable weather. I have a seedling tray I got from Vego Garden 1020 standard tray on sale that is similar to your water jug setup method but have only used it indoors to start seedlings and never even thought of putting them outdoors to sprout. I use to use those plastic jugs cut like that as luminaries lining my driveway with just a tea light in them – another use after the flowers grow. Added bonus is critters will have a more difficult time getting to the young plants if they are interested. Thanks for the inspiration and hope you have a blessed week….

  5. I think you will love this method, Kaye. You have the perfect climate for winter sowing. I tried it several years ago at the suggestion of one of my Ohio gardening friends, and Texas, at least where I live is not a good winter environment for winter sowing. We have very changeable weather in the winter. We can have cold snaps as low as in the teens and then swing back up to the 70s in a matter of days. The seeds don't know what to think and break dormancy and germinate way too soon. Then it gets cold again and the seedlings die. The only way to avoid that is to bring all the jugs inside during the cold spell, which, in my opinion, defeats the purpose. Wishing you lots of luck with this. It is a fun and easy way to start seeds.
