  1. Is there some study showing this is true? All I can find are random facebook posts and an alibaba listing.

  2. Very interesting. I've used square pot for years only because I hate wasted space. I would like to learn more about root pruning

  3. Would you recommend the square container for indoor plants too? Not just veggies/flowers..but like monstera/ philodendron etc

  4. I don't know about shape being an issue but root bound is a problem.
Probably 1000% more important to not let your plants get root bound than anything else…
Size of container based on plant sensitivity is important also for me I'm giving big pots for melons and cucumbers because they really don't like being root bound or transplanted combined it's fatal.

  5. Thank you for explaining this concept. I just learned about air pruning and now hole geometry. There is a lot more to gardening then just sticking seeds in the ground.

  6. Yes, I've had those problems and i now just start the seeds in pots and transplant into the garden when they get their first set of true leaves. Then i reuse the pots for a second, third and more sowing which also staggers the harvest.

  7. You could probably crease a round pot at the base to somewhat create facets and maybe heat it with a lighter to make it better hold the shape. Interesting video!

  8. I’ve planted roughly 20,000 trees in my city on people’s lawns. 10-15 feet tall.
Every hole was a square. Dug with a backhoe.
We had about a 99% success rate

  9. I invested in a soil plug maker last year. It was great. I could start seeds for ones that don’t like root disturbance. I just used it for carrots since it came in later than I expected. I’ll use it more this season

  10. Well, well, who woulda thunk it? I bought square pots because they fit better into my shelf system, and now I find that they are better than round. Happy circumstance!

  11. My husband gifted me two blueberry plants last year in round containers. Can they be root trimmed and trained so they will do well planted in the ground?
