Anything with sugar water is going to draw ants – hang the feeder from a wire with a thin coat of motor oil on it. The ants can't go up and down the oiled wire – it's like walking on ice for them.

I like the cut out solar lighting. I make my own lighting using ceiling fan light votives glued to solar light. Hang them from tree branches at different levels. I even hang them through out inside the tree as far I can reach with a latter. I call it Summer Christmas Lighting. Seeing the cut out solar lights I have another tree to hang from this Spring. Gives my country garden a great look.

I make my own homemade potting mix… I start seeds in it, I use it in grown bags, and it's all organic. A little cost up front and a bit of work to mix it all together. But then you can store in 5 gallon buckets are a larger container and have it handy when you need it.
Espoma potting soil is my favorite โค
i use their salad mix and buy bunches of them, i have 5 aero gardens and any of the seed packets will grow in there or anywhere. the rockets, i just toss out when im suppose to, but haven't see any results i can notice, so yeah, there ya go.
THe garden rocks and he metal are cheap and don't last a season so pass those by. better off painting rocks and sealing them yourself and keep the memories….

New viewer here! I have had pretty good success with seed packets from DT. I also enjoy the garden accessories like the pot rollers and cute accents to make the garden inviting and whimsical.
If you do end up getting humming bird feeder please do your own research but they need to be cleaned daily, the hottest your sink will put out is enough a tip is to never fill it all the way just add small amounts more frequently because thereโs a disease that occurs in the sugar water after being left out in the sun that causes the hummingbirds to be unable to retract their tongues thus killing them, but an easy diy sugar water mixture is 1 part granulated white sugar 4 parts water , ONLY GRANULATED WHITE SUGAR, no honey, no brown sugar, and no fake sugars. I canโt wait to go my local dollar tree to see what theyโve got, happy gardening!

The humming bird feeders do attract ants, and the sun fades the color in no time. Humming birds do come to them even when they are faded. I bought 3 last year.
I use miracle grow I have for years , so I think it's good

just remember, new gardeners , any of those perennial seeds will not flower til the 2nd year. Check and research for growing zones, also.

Those feeders are usually good for at least a couple years, but make your own liquid. Don't buy the pre-made stuff.
do not buy plastic hummingbird feeders due to the microplastics that will contaminate the water/sugar they are feeding on. Spend a little more and get a glass container for the birds.
Dollar Tree has good garden stuff, I get my stuff from there from seeds to the snips I use โคโค love them and work good
I got a few wild flower blends for a pond that I turned into a hilled flower bed last spring!! Itโs still covered with flowers now!!
I got the perennials blend so Iโm hoping all the flowers donโt need much help in the spring. The zinnias and four oโclock were my favorites!!
Iโm going to plant cat grass all around the outside, because all the neighborhood cats like to roll around in the flowers when they first started coming up!!
(Iโm in NV, so Iโm still getting flowers and cherry tomatoes on my vines!)
hey, this makes me smile and think of spring coming ๐ For seed starting soil, I love the brand Coast of Maine. I get it from Amazon and it's a bit pricy but I only use it for seed starting and it's worked really well. For a new garden tool this year consider getting a Japanese style Hori-Hori knife. I got one last year and I LOVE it. It's so multipurpose in the garden. Thanks for the vid!

I buy the hummingbird feeders every year, they work better than my expensive ones and are easy to clean. They fade color by end of the summer so I just toss them and start again. The hummingbirds use them regularly.

I've been growing the seeds from Dollar Tree for years. You dont get a lot, but they usually grow!
