Found this moss growing in a sidewalk crack (only took some). How do I help it thrive in a terrarium?
I’m soaking it because I saw that’s what some people recommend. I have several jar terrariums but none have been super successful with moss. Substrate recommendation would be helpful
Basically you replicate the environment it came from. Think about how often that area gets wet and to what degree. How much sun does it get directly and through bright shade? For how long? How humid is the area it came from?
If you can answer all that, then you try your best to simulate that in the jar. How much light it gets a day and what type (direct or bright shade), how wet it needs to be, how humid the jar should be, etc. Even what substrate the moss was growing on.
