A new community garden is coming to west Phoenix.
A community group, the Del Monte Village Garden Association, was approved by city council on Wednesday to license a 4,710-square-foot property northeast of 36th Avenue and West Encanto Boulevard for just $37.50 per year.
“This is exactly the kind of community-led project we want throughout District 4, but also throughout the city of Phoenix,” District 4 Councilmember Laura Pastor said ahead of city council’s vote of a approval.
