Classes are open to Baker, Union county residents
BAKER CITY — The 2026 OSU Extension Service Master Gardener classes start Jan. 28 and meet Wednesdays, 5:30-8:30 p.m., through May 6 at the Baker County OSU Extension Office, 2600 East St.
This is open to residents of Baker and Union counties. Registration closes Jan. 23.
The fee of $150 includes the text, 13 classes and the “Hoe, Sow, Grow, Stow” community class series.
Topics of the main course cover botany, plant pathology, vertebrate pest management, entomology/insect ID, soils/compost, plant disease diagnosis, integrated pest management, weed identification and berry crops.

Community classes
Although included in the Master Gardener course, seven community classes are open to the public at the Extension Office, 2600 East St.
Classes are $15, except for the March 7 session of fruit tree pruning, which is $25.

Feb. 28: The Veggies — Night Shade, Root and Salad, 9 a.m.-noon
March 7: Fruit Tree Pruning, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
March 14: Sow — Seed Start, 9 a.m.-noon
April 4: Hoe — Garden Soils, 9 a.m.-noon
April 4: Grow — Growing in Baker County, 1-4 p.m.
April 11: Stow — Harvest and Preserve, 9 a.m.-noon
