Isn’t the comfrey suckong up the nutrients a bit of a myth? Like there isn’t really science to back up it being exceptional? But I suppose any plant you want to use for chop and drop or as a ground cover is a good addition to that place and any plant there will use some of the nutrients draining out of the compost pile or hot beds.

This is a brilliant idea. I'm relocating my composting site this year to take advantage of a slight slope.
Brilliant! That's on my list now for 2027 when I move my bin.

I wonder how comfrey would do on my plot, as it's 25cm of topsoil over iron ore mine waste…
How can I identify comfrey on winter?

"Not enough comfrey."
Said no one ever.
Great idea 💡👍🏻🍃🌱✨️
Comfrey is a compost conversion engine and this is a beautiful example of that!
Grow comfrey in 50 litter plastic totes
Comfrey Bosom.
That would be your drag name.
You can do the same with willow just keep it short and bushy, the benefit is that the roots will reach much further in under the compost.
Genius idea. Definitely propagating some comfrey to the compost site. Thanks for this ❤
