Winter blues got you down? This photo from a few years back always gets me hyped for spring,a ridiculous sea of yellow trumpet pitcher plants (Sarracenia flava var. ornata) absolutely dominating a bog in the Florida Panhandle.
This is the legendary “Outlaw” site in Bay County – one of the most stunning (and sadly threatened) wild populations out there. Those heavy red veins and tall pitchers are peak flava perfection. Can’t wait for bog season again!
(Pro tip: These sites are fragile and some are protected/private – always stick to ethical viewing and never collect from the wild.)
