My H. Lacunosa (silver) has many different variations of silver, from solid silver, flecks of silver and hints of silver, but purple silver?!? Didn’t expect that!

I LOVE IT! Will try to propagate this feature!

It’s sun stress from the grow lights, not a sport (mutation) think of it like a sun tan. Also new growth can look pink or purple in plants, but it will fade to silver as the leaves harden off. One of these two things.

The purple is sunstress. There are other silver hoyas that sunstress purplish/pinkish.
So with less light, the purple disappears, it’s not a mutation or a feature that can be propagated.

Nice!! I know there are a couple of lacunosa varieties that sunstress purple and they are $$$. Super cool that you got one spontaneously!

As others have said, you aren’t necessarily seeing a purple sport mutation here, you’re seeing anthocyanin pigments which are appearing purple due to the aeromaculata (silver) obscuring the green, chlorophyll rich tissues. The sport mutation is the silver foliage, and is already present and selected for. ❤️

I need a lesson on sun stressing 😅

The dark purple vine is worth propagating to see if it will continue to produce more. Good luck!
