  1. Fun❤ I always enjoy watching you and your mom interact and how adventurous you are it's not like oh it's impossible oh I can't do it blah blah blah. Oh yeah this is give a try let's see what we can do. You're so inspiring 😊

  2. Could you not tie a cinnamon stick and pine needle to the side with a pretty ribbon? Or glue gun it on the side of the jar?

  3. Hi Laura and Susan! Loved this episode for the craft and the coziness and the humour! What are the dimensions of the flower shed? Looks like the perfect size for these types of activities when it's not gardening season.

  4. You and your mom were delightful to watch. As were Benjamin and Samantha. Each new project is a learning experience. Last year I made candles as Christmas presents for my co-workers. Not too scented but I recycled most of my old favorite candle jars. They turned out pretty good. I think next time I will invite a friend over to join the fun.

  5. I always enjoy watching you with your mom. I lost mine many years ago and still miss her everyday. Candles can be so expensive and I find many of the scents too strong or unpleasant.

  6. You can install an outdoor sink next to your hose. You can just buy a small antique sink. I have a stainless steel sink outside.

  7. I love the close relationship you and your sister have with your mom and you are the same mom with your two adorable children. Your home and videos are wonderful and I watch them daily your candles look so good how fun making them. I want to wish you and your mom and family a Happy New Year.

  8. My suggestion is to leave out the wicks and use them under warmer lights to allow them to scent your entire home. I bought my candle warmer on Amazon and it’s relatively inexpensive.

  9. Trial and error is all part of life👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💙💙💙

  10. Love the project Funny you think this warm weather is a gift. We are so dry and warm here in Colorado it is worrisome..If it doesn't change soon we will have watering restrictions this year. My poor landscape will suffer.. bc like you I am planting things that should not grow in my area without added watering. I really should switch to natives.

  11. Hi Ladies, the candle glasses are too cold. Your open door just didn't help. Usually you even warm up them to certain temperature to prevent the dip or even pull. You can actually buy candle essential oils. Basic for those is from 6% to 8% per liter of melted wax. Candle shak is great company to get basics and no, not main no affiliated link. Just genuinely happy LOL. All the best.

  12. I have a whole box of old partially used candles that I’ve been saving forever 😆. You’ve inspired me to melt them down & make a few new ones! What a fun video!

  13. I love your Mom and l love her personality. What is her first name? She is an awesome lady. Thank you for sharing and letting us watch you Ethel and Lucy do your thing. Happy new year.

  14. Put the decorative ones that you’re worried will catch on fire put them under a candle warmer.

  15. As I’m watching your videos, my hubby often jokingly asks me “Well, what are they selling today that’s going to cost me more money?” 😂 I told them you were making homemade candles today & he said “Oh no, they’ll be selling them next!” 🤣

  16. This one of your best videos the both of you were killing me the other video was when mom couldn't say MOD PODGE the both of are the best love watching you made my day still laughing❤

  17. I haven't tried it, but I think if you try layering the wax next time, your decorations might stay put… Putting just enough wax to set your items in place and then filling it (completely or gradually) after that first layer solidifies… Again, just an idea for next time. Either way they came out pretty. 🙂
Edit…I just saw that you mentioned this at the end. Lol

  18. To get decorations in to your candles you may have to use to jars one bigger jar to put your decorations and the smaller jar to put your candle wax.

  19. Professional chandler here😊 I think you ladies should do it again. Just with tips on how to do it safely. Some tips from me: candle making is a science and measurements and temperatures matter.

Weigh out your wax, weigh out your oil.

Example: the vessel you melt the wax in should be separate from the vessel you “pour” from.

    No drafty areas
    Heat wax to 175-180 degrees
You weigh out the melted wax into your “pour’ vessel on a scale, cool to 140 degrees
Pour in 10% oil, stir 2 min
Pour into your jar leave 1/4-1/2 in head space
    Stabilize your wick
Let cool completely before trimming the wick or it will move and create a sink hole

Sink holes are normal when room temps/candle temps change too quickly (open doors, a/c, etc)

To fix a sink hole after wax is completely solid you take a heat gun while wick stabilizer is in and smooth it. It will settle flat. Let it re-solidify. Clip wick to 1/4 in.

Candle should cure 7-14 days before burning to allow for fragrance to adhere to the wax completely.

As far as the add ins just do research on which are safety issues, even with the essential oils.

A lot of candle making fragrance oils are safe if you want to invest in one to try out.

    Good luck, great video ❤

  20. Lots of laughs and fun. Tie a ribbon with a small metal leaf or flower around the jars.😊

  21. Youe cinnamin oil will not be half as strong in a candle and you'll need a LOT of oil to make that scent forward in a candle!
