Great Vid, lots of info and clearly explained! I don't have a lawn, mostly weeds that look like one. And that's a small strip in back that I'm converting to beds and hardscape. I have installed drip throughout yard though.
Amazing information! I just dug a 60ft trench in my front lawn and installed the first Rainbird 32ETI DIY kit with 1/2 inch irrigation tubing (with garden hose). Having done it once, I wanted to modify the componets (heads) and tried to get it done with buying individual component. While I was doing research, I came across your videos and I have to say this is by far the most informative series on YT. Now I feel like perhaps I could and should have done something more professional. Thanks again for sharing the knowledge!!
Yes there is a song, and (useless trivia) Ozzy got the title from the baby shampoo 🙂
I've got 36k² yard. Would I be able to do half this year then knock the rest out next year?
I’ve been researching this topic in preparation for re-doing my backyard. The builder did not have complete coverage and there are huge dry spots. easily 10 feet in diameter if not more.
Do you have any advice on head-to-head sprinkler coverage? you talk about overlap instead, which implies less than head-to-head coverage.
i haven’t watched part 2 yet, but you should tell your viewers how to read a friction loss table and the 5ft/sec rule. That will allow you to figure out how much water the mainline can provide and calculate how many heads you can place on a zone.
Also, many municipalities require a backflow device. In my state, a backflow is required by law. failure to comply can lead to disconnecting your water until you pay $1000 fine and correct the problem.
Great videos, I appreciate the years of knowledge you’ve been able to share!!
Definitely Subscribed 💪🤘
In my house I measured my water pressure which is 40PSI. I would like to diy my in ground sprinkle system. would it be possible to install the sprinkle system with 40PSI?
Great video. Very well explained with all the details involving the project. Congratulations for your video.
Incredible content. Thank you. New subscriber from Ecuador South America.
I am going to DIY my irrigation system. I started my house proyect 6 years ago 😢. First the land, designed the house, fence, foundation, pool and a cistern to save water under the house.
Can I send you a couple of photos and some plans for you to take a look?
Coach,
Thanks for the detailed explanation. I was looking for basic irrigation to irrigate a farm land but somehow I skipped High School Irrigation DIY to get to college Irrigation DIY. The information is dense for someone who knows nothing about irrigation but I grabbed most of the concepts. I was watching and thinking how do I convert 1000 Square feet into 12 acres irrigation in Africa. I may need to do more research on some of the parts mentioned here before i come back and watch the video again. I just subscribed and hoping more videos of yours will tech me some of what I need to know. Thank you Coach
Thank you!
We both have a PHD in the same area 😅
THANK YOU for this knowledge.
Looking to do my backyard soon! Doing as much homework as possible.
God Bless
I gotta ask…
How come no one uses pex? I believe they make burial type pex, and the most common problem (broken pipe due to freezing should be reduced or eliminated)
What happens I fell Asleep
I’m planning on connecting a water line to my shed from my sprinkler system. Could you explain how to do that? If you have diagrams, please send them.
What type of pump does one need?
Part 2?
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this video. Thank you!
Are you available to guide me on a new installation? If so. What's your rate, please? Thank you.
thanks for the information
Great video! A lot of helpful information. I want to use expansion PEX. There is only very little information about that on the www. Do you know if there are any disadvantages besides higher costs? Does it withstand constant pressure like PVC does?
its a common misconception that stepping down will increase pressure. Each reduction in pipe increases friction loss. Don't do it.
Would have liked to see more parts and their use explained…. will be watching parts 2 and 3.
Good video, except your gpm numbers are quite inaccurate. A 3/4" ID pipe will flow 23 gpm at normal pressures (20-100 psi). A 1" pipe will flow 37 gpm.
How do you guarantee the right pressure?
Thank you Sir, very helpful information
"Over buy initially and return what you didn't use"
A-freakin-men. I went to Home Depot and local irrigation suppliers so many times to buy "just a couple more pieces"
Not sure if they do this everywhere but if you rent a machine on Friday from Sunbelt in my area you get to keep it over the weekend and return it on Monday and they only charge you for one day. Definitely easier to rent a trencher than hand digging.
Thanks for taking the time to provide so much detailed information. You have an excellent channel that has been super helpful to me.
You are a great teacher! Girl here..
