Why are you not taking it to the compost bins you created with the cement blocks?? Awh, Douglas gets a ride! He's so cute!
My neighbours have a walnut tree. For the past 20 years I have seen the squirrels hide those walnuts in the craziest of places, plus digging holes for them. Under the hood of my car, on our window sills, in my pots, in our garage, on the roof of our house and in the eavestrough, so many more places. Lol
Actually top growth on plants can protect the crown of the plant. Especially in cold climates

Oh. Help, Laura!! Since I have been following you since the beginning of the Lovely Gardening Answer days, and because I trust your advice above all others in this field, here's what happened:
I planted oodles more crocus bulbs this year in late October…we have had much the same weather as you with dry and much warmer conditions in Eastern Colorado; and i noticed they are starting to send up growth….Unusual for them…they would normally not be seen with growth until their first Spring!! They normally return reliably year after year. But I'm do worried about them now! Is there anything special I could do to save them, do you think they'll make it, what would you do??

Never can tell what digs in garden. We got a trail cam and found out foxes were digging up the bulbs I planted this past fall! They just played with them. I had to go replant 20 to 30 bulbs every morning. That lasted about a month. They haven't been back in a few weeks. I never knew that foxes would do that!

Love the garden and videos, but as a big fan of composting, I’m wondering why you’re wasting all that fabulous dead plant material by burning it when you have that new, huge compost bin. Thanks for all you do!
So Laura, would you recommend doing fall cleanup or spring cleanup? Looks like you lean a little more towards Spring clean-up so you can have some winter interest in the garden. I always used to do my cleanup in the fall, but now I'm leaning toward spring.
