Hi team,
New house in Brisbane Australia, and having a hard time IDing what the native grass type is in the yard. It’s got a few trees covering the back, and the house shades the lawn in the mid-late afternoon, so unlikely to be a grass that needs plentiful sunshine.
It’s very thin coverage and quite patchy, but think it’s either zoysia or buffalo, but can’t really see any evidence of runners for buffalo.
Any advice would be great so I can get the required feeds to best get it to bounce back! If you think it’s all weeds or rubbish grass, also let me know so I can nuke it!
Originally from Scotland, hence my struggles to identify warm season grasses.

Honestly it looks a bit like summergrass, which is considered a weed.
Bit hard to tell from photos, because some of it looks like buffalo too.
It’s definitely not couch, and doesn’t look like kikuyu either
Sorry I can’t help more
